Castel Thun is the place for you if you would like to visit an authentic princely dwelling, as this is a castle that still features all its original furnishings.
Reopened in 2010 following on from a period of restoration works, this stately home in the Non Valley is one of the few castles in the Alps that is furnished and lived in as a period home. Indeed, the castle is still inhabited and the family that lives there has retained the tastes and feel of a time gone by. The famous Bishop’s Room is the most charming and renowned room in Castel Thun. This is due to both its beauty and because it has been cited in literature, as well been the set for Michelangelo Antonioni’s The Mystery of Oberwald. Cavallino Bianco guests can visit Castel Thun with our guide, Fabrizio, with the added benefit of a reduced rate.
